Mindful Reflections: Transitioning Into New Seasons

*Cue Drake’s Summers Over Interlude*

Summer is ending, and a new season is approaching us. I recently gathered our community for a Rooftop Yoga Experience to prepare for that transition. That was the first of many From Phoenix events and the start of a new era🔥!

When I came up with the idea to host Rooftop Yoga, I was hyped AF but wasn't 100% sure how I would execute it. I just knew I wanted to share the yoga practice and remind our community of the importance of movement and mindfulness as we prepare for fall✨.

I always say that From Phoenix is more than just candles🕯️. In addition to making quality products, my aim is to create space for people to decompress, reflect, and be mindful of the lives they're living. When I started making candles in my college dorm 5 years ago, I knew I wanted to create a community for wellness and share the tools that helped so that individuals could pause, create rituals, and not get so caught up in survival mode + hustle culture 24/7!

Leading up to the event, I was in my head and experienced hella emotions like pure excitement, joy, nervousness sprinkled with hopefulness and a pinch of self-doubt. I didn't allow those feelings to stop me from executing the vision. Thanks to the help of both my mentor and therapist for allowing me space to vent, cry, and talk about my plans and uncertainty all at the same time.

When the day came, everything fell into place. It rained all weekend, but that changed closer to the time of the event. When people began to arrive, all of the angst slowly faded away. All of those negative emotions I had were no longer present. I watched everyone enjoy the yoga practice and realized how beautiful that moment was.

Shortly after, I began to process the moments leading up to the Rooftop Yoga Experience and wanted to share those lessons with you as we transition into a new season✨:

  1. Allow room for error and give yourself grace in those moments.

  2. Give up the need for total control.

  3. Identify your cheerleaders and supporters— those individuals are a part of your tribe.

  4. Allow your tribe to show up for you and help, even when you think you don't need it.

  5. Don't be so hard on yourself, because 9 times out of 10, everything's gonna work out.

  6. Get out of your head! Like FRFR, chill out!

  7. EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT.

  8. Don't be SO attached to the outcome, but…

  9. Have confidence in your plan.

  10. Trust the vision.

Preparing for and hosting Rooftop Yoga taught me a lot about myself. As we transition into fall, I hope you can apply the lessons I've shared and empower yourself to show up bravely, reflect deeply, and be your most authentic self.

Adulting and bringing your ideas to life can sometimes be intimidating, but let's walk into this new season mindful, confident, and self-assured🔥.
